sakura bloom sling diaries - fun

We explore often; this beautiful land of ours with its green, blue and ochre palette. "Fun" is being outside in the open where the hills meet the shore, a mid-winter getaway to nourish and restore. The pebbles were in abundance so we skimmed them across the surface and built zen towers on the sand. Spiral seashells licked with salt, keepsakes in our pockets.

We sat and talked with friends and on the way back home we blew breath on dandelion flowers till there were only the stems - beautiful ephemera.

Over six chapters of the sling diaries I have celebrated babywearing in Australia. Poet has, in the past six months, been worn in the sling as we travelled and explored. From her perch on my hip she has seen three cities, country orchards, ancient bushland and sandy beaches. It's been a wonderful journey and such a blessing to have her close, just where she should be.

Tim, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for these captures. You did it, again.

  6. You and your beautiful family shine in the outdoors. The connection you have with nature is so apparant in all of your photos. Tim has captured magic once again! I will definately invest in one of these slings if we have a bubba number 3. How much longer do you think you'll be able to carry poet in it?
    Love and light :) x

    1. I think I'll carry Poet for at least another year. It just makes bushwalking and beach trips and the 'duck to the shops' SO much easier. She loves it too but I am finding that she wants to get out sooner now...she wants to explore! x

  8. I have been thinking about getting a sakura bloom sling (to add to my collection and in time for number 2 due in October), but shipping cost from their main site is bumping up the price quite a bit. I can't see any local (Australian) stockists - do you know of any?

  12. these are such precious captures Jodi. I've never actually worn any of mine on the hip like that. do you find that you compensate by holding yourself crooked (as you do when carrying a child on your hip without a sling) or does having a sling prevent that?
and is it comfortable on the opposite shoulder where the weight is carried?
i'd like to carry Sawyer for longer but he is already so heavy and i'm not brave enough to try wrapping him on my back!
