in other places

a fed up frown but a very cute elfin bonnet from typically red

This week has been all sore throats, rain and ginger tea. Grey skies make for good stay-in-bed-and-laze-about days; unproductive in the work sense but very good for the soul. I'm still here, in bed, under linen and wrapped in wool; heavy headed and sniffly. It's not all bad though, we have a three-day weekend to look forward to with no plans - the possibilities!

For the past two Fridays I've linked to stories, posts and products in other places; it's a nice way to document what I've been reading and admiring. I think I'll make it habit.

one of the most powerful documentaries I've ever seen - it's incredibly profound.
I adore this pretty cloud blouse.
Sal over at Fawn & Fox has 40% of her entire range - Poet has these boots, I love these teak bowls and this blanket is gorgeous.
I wrote about simplifying your family schedule over at Kidspot.
Breanna Rose interviewed me as part of her Creative Diaries feature.
This article is superbly written and just as intriguing.
A celebration of natural fabrics and muted tones - divine babywear.
I hope that one day my Poet gets to meet this Poet - for now they live on opposite ends of the Earth.

Happy weekend! What are your plans? I think I'll be writing from bed and making soup. Maybe....

  3. Beautiful moody photo and I love the red pop of the beanie. Just wondering how your photo books are going for your Project 52? Would be interested in how you did them...which size book etc at Artifact Uprising. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia

  4. Ah, Poet is sooo cute in this picture.
    Love the bonnet.

I tried watching This way of life, but I couldn't since I'm not in AU.
Ended up seeing a lot of trailers on youtube, tho, and now I really really wanna see it.
Have to try and find it somewhere to download.

I used to ride horses like that when I was little ;)

  6. It's so funny - literally EVERYONE I know is talking about that documentary right now. It's obviously very timely, even though it was made a few years ago x

  7. I hope the lurgy clears up at your place, we've been wading through it for a couple of weeks now. I think all that lovely sunshine got us through but LOOK OUT THERE now. Not fun.

We've got Lottie's party on Sunday and friends for dinner that night, but otherwise we are gardening in the rain and snuggling in our wammies. Enjoy yourselves. x

  8. Dear Jodi
Love reading all that you have gathered here. This Way of Life, has been in my head since viewing 2 weeks ago. Colleen is the most beautiful woman. I cried a bit. Such calmness and connection to nature. Being a horse lover and rider (beginner) it really connected with me. I have ordered my own copy. I do hope you are feeling better soon. Seeing people all week at work with the same. Best wishes, Jill

We have a trip to the farmers market tomorrow for seedling and honey and then chicken to roast on Sunday. Hope your weekend is restful. xx

  10. an eclectic and inspiring compilation - this new habit of yours is fully encouraged! your sweet poet is darling in the photo, pouty or not. hope that you are feeling better in time to enjoy your long weekend out from under the linen. my husband is away for the weekend, so it'll just be my son and i with no plans in particular, but perfect weather in the forecasts. i'm looking forward to spending the time outdoors, as long as the lingering daylight allows {almost 8pm these days!} best, lucinda

  13. Jodi, I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope with enough rest you'll feel better soon. Thank you for sharing that documentary, This Way Of Life. I'm looking forward to seeing it tonight. The story of course speaks to me and I love that it's set in New Zealand. I've spent three months traveling around New Zealand in 2008 and I still miss it at times.

    Have a great week!
