"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014."
Poet: 'reading' Milly Molly Mandy and completely fascinated by the fact that she has a cat and a dog. Love her dirty fingernails and grazed knees.
Friends, I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. Basically, sleep is more important than a comprehensive blog post. There you have it: practising simplicity - recognising the necessities.

ReplyDeletesweet dreams to you!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes…there is almost nothing as important as sleep!
The scraped knees and dirty fingernails are gorgeous - such an important part of childhood. I loved Milly Molly Mandy as a kid and I'm loving reading the stories to my kids! Hope you get some restoring sleep!
ReplyDeleteScraped knees and dirty fingernails are the beautiful evidence of children's hard work...their play. Love it! Hope your Sunday is slow and gentle xxx

My eye went straight to the little grazed knees...
ReplyDeleteOh, hope you're ok (& that you get some sleep). Do I need to get Olive onto Milly Molly Mandy? I don't remember it. (We're currently reading the adventures of the wishing chair.) Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteI'm fine - just a big week and needed an early night. You and Olive will LOVE Milly Molly Mandy! x
DeleteThis is beautiful, has a real classic/vintage look to it x
ReplyDeletePrioritise sleep. Always. (Well, almost always.) Especially when you're going at it alone. I hope you had a restful night and are ready for a lovely Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI love that that book is old and it looks so nostalgic. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
ReplyDeletei think the dirty fingers and scraped knees are my favourite bits x
ReplyDeleteThe scraped knees were the first thing I noticed, so cute! My daughter has the same knees.
ReplyDeleteJodi, I am a new follower and friend of your blog, and am SOO enjoying the inspirational words and photography that you share. I'm learning so much, thank you!
ReplyDeleteAlso, grazed knees and dirty fingernails? Nothing better :) I always say, it's a sign of a truly GOOD day!
I loved Milly Molly Mandy as a child! I was so sad when I recently discovered that somehow, my grandma's collection had mysteriously disappeared. She is sick and in a nursing home and there was only a couple of things of hers that I had really wanted - one being her collection of children's books which included Milly Molly Mandy. I guess I will just keep scouring the op shops...
ReplyDeleteGood choice as this was one of my favourite reads as a child. x
ReplyDeletechildren reading - such a lovely sight!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo. I love everything about it, especially the scraped up knees.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late to the party this week. That's what happens when you sneak away for a long weekend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo of Poet, Jodi. Gotta love a girlie-girl with scraped up knees. I've got one of those too :o)x

ReplyDelete:) love the capture this week--I'm a long-time follower of your blog (from way back when it was Che and Fidel of course), and I've been so inspired to start my own 52 Project. To have an entire year of photos to look back on will be just priceless (especially as our newest little one will be joining us around week 28 or so!), so I thank you for inspiring me! Here's hoping I can pull it off!! Poet is just beautiful as always. Hope you got some rest!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute:)
