5/52

"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Poet: the joy of running between white sheets and marvelling at the bright.

White sheets were hanging on the washing line a few days ago and I realised that in the late afternoon sun they created the most beautiful light box. I encouraged Poet to hide between them and all of a sudden she was illuminated.

I'm delighted to finally share this year's "The 52 Project" button with you. Created by Oana Befort it will undoubtedly add a little pretty to your blog. Feel free to place it on your sidebar (right click on the image, save as and then upload to your blog) and either link to your 52 posts or Practising Simplicity. I hope you like it!

I have a feeling that the giveaway I posted earlier in the week may resonate with quite a few of you. Pop over here and be inspired (it's open to international readers!).

..............................................................................................................................

Last week I loved....Maggie and Elisabeth in the late summer sun / Lola running up the most beautiful set of stairs / the dreamer - a stunning capture / Ali has a photographer's eye and I admire the way she photographs Grace and Tom (love the overwhelm of the city!) / and finally, one of the photographers who inspires me most, Lou....her photos of Sunny, Scout and Cedar are unforgettable.

  21. I don't bother with washing the sheets, but perhaps I'll send my filthy children up to your house to run amongst yours.

  22. Washing, especially sheets, drying on the line in the sun with a warm breeze is probably one of the most mesmerising scenes, I love to stand and watch!

  24. Each week I am so inspired and encouraged by the beautiful photos everyone shares. I'm so glad I'm taking part this year. Our little 9 yo starts school tomorrow and it's the first time we're sending a child off to school. I've been reading your school series Jodi, our situation is a little different but it makes me feel less alone reading your words about the return to school.

  36. What a wonderful photograph. Playing in the sheets reminds me of my daughter and her godmother lying on the grass in the middle of our rotary washing line, watching the planes fly across the clear blue sky through the fluttering bedsheets
