25/52

"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."

Che: Keeping me company as I recover from a nasty 24hour bug.
Poet: Running from a sea of pink.

I love them both beyond measure.

This week we celebrated the winter/summer solstice and next week marks the middle of the calendar year. As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to launch an extra "52" post that features my favourite three portraits (for each child) from the first half of 2013. I'll include a link-up so you can join in too. But I'm wondering, what should I call it?

...................................................................................................................................

This week a sweet bubble boy made me smile / sceptical Clementine is adorable - looking forward to cuddling her next week / colour and joy and four beautiful children over at "a bit of sunshine..." / a squatting babe in her fun and whimsical nursery / and finally, Vanessa's post stayed with me all week. A letter to her boys, explaining the lack of photos for the week. A beautiful reminder for us all.

  11. HT3 (Half Year Three)

Love the pink in poet's portrait. I love seeing a flash of pink, having 4 boys I do not get many photos of them with 'girly' colours or I am in big trouble!

  15. I love the idea of featuring three of our favorites... Ideas for a name: Top Three (plain and simple), THREE (you can make it more of a modern button, like repeating "three"... more typographic in nature), The Pit Stop (a little stop on a long journey).... hmmm... I'll keep thinking ;)

  16. I agree with MommaBBAbyboy, your portraits are amazing, but I love how your backgrounds tell a story all of their own, adding to the lushness of your children's' stories.

  21. I'm really looking forward to seeing which three you choose next week - it will be a hard decision!
Poet's photo is lovely, almost looks like she is twirling amongst the petals.

  22. Thank you Jodi. Sometimes we need to let go and listen, and as I've learned this past week sometimes things really need to go pear-shaped for us to get back on track. Hope you're feeling better (I had the same 24hr gastro bug in the same week - not my finest moment!) x

    1. Nor mine, Vanessa. And we had run out of chicken stock - the one thing that I knew would make it better! I'm on day 3 of bed rest - translation: working from bed. x

    2. Oh no! Today is day 10 of this torn ligament shoulder. It got better half way through and then ultrasound at physio put me back to the start. Would you believe that I did the blossoming lotus minutes after I tore it?! It was a spectacular one-on-one class and obviously have been in too much pain to do anything since! But I'll be back to it soon I'm sure. Let me know if you need me to pick up some chicken carcasses as I'll be heading there this week. x
