29/52
"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."
Che: Plane, car and Astro Boy in Japanese; this week's beloved possessions.
Poet: Walking the sea wall on her birthday, the salt wind whipping her hair.
I unintentionally created a sequel of 28/52. I also wanted to create an example of portraits without faces; they are still such honest captures of my children.

Lovely portrait of beautiful Poet. I'm going to try to make an effort to look for moments of play for next week.
ReplyDeletei love how you capture them by just their belongings. i however am face obsessed. even with my painting.
ReplyDeleteI love the portrait of Poet on the sea wall - so evocative and atmospheric. And it's amazing how much hands can portray - a lovely glimpse into Che's world.
ReplyDeleteI adore that portrait of Poet. The hazy whisp of hair across her face, I can feel the wind wrapping around me as I look at that one. Am very glad you liked my Matilda and George last week. Holly.x
ReplyDeleteThere is something so Austin-esque about Poet's portrait this week. A mini Elizabeth Bennett. I love it xx

ReplyDeleteLove as always! Honey, where can I get Noah one of these comics? xx
ReplyDeletepoet looks likes she's in a scene from 'the piano', well minus the torrential downpour but all windswept and lovely! and what interesting hands. when you really look it reminds you hands are as varied and interesting as faces x
ReplyDeleteSuch simple beauty. We will struggle to remember so much of our babies' childhoods when we are older so capturing every little facet is just lovely. Hope your week is a calm and happy one :) xx
ReplyDeleteYour daughter has such a beautiful name 'Poet', it's just lovely! :)

For a while, my kid went through a phase where she looked like astro boy. Which was fitting, as we were living in Japan at the time!
ReplyDeletePoet is looking so big here! Oh my!
Beautiful - I love the idea of not necessarily capturing the faces!
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented - really love your work! x
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Jodi. There is so much sometimes that can be told in a photograph just through the hands or even the act of looking away.
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Poet is pure magic. Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteI love the feeling and emotion you capture when you photograph. It really is precious! :)
